HVAC Repair Services
On those hot summer days, you need to know your AC will keep you cool. When it stops working altogether, check the thermostat to make sure the batteries are good. If they are, make sure the circuit breaker hasn’t tripped. If it still doesn’t turn on, call us and we will send one of our NATE-certified technicians to come check it out.
When your AC is blowing hot air, it could indicate several issues. The thermostat may not be set correctly. Clogged air filters may need cleaning or changing. Or the refrigerant may be low.
If the condensate pan or line gets clogged or cracked, it can cause water to back up in the system and leak into your home. If you find that your AC is cooling some rooms in your house more than others, you may need to install dampers to balance out the system. Rattling noises can mean problems with the fans, motors, or compressors. Screeching or squealing sounds indicate problems with the belt.
Mini-split systems offer zoning so you can control the temperature in each room. Sometimes they can develop leaks in the refrigerant. If this happens in the outdoor unit, you may notice a hissing sound or decreased efficiency. Mini-splits can also leak water inside your home if the condensate drainage system needs unblocking.
Insufficient heat or cold air can mean dirty air filters, a broken compressor, or improper thermostat settings. Furnaces provide heat by making it. They use heat exchangers to warm up the air before distributing it through your ducts. When the heat exchanger breaks, you will feel cooler air coming from your vents.
Squeaking noises mean a problem with the blower belt. A scraping noise means the blower’s ball bearings need replacing. If your furnace won’t turn on, it could be a problem with the starting mechanism. This is a pilot light for a gas or oil furnace and an electrical ignition for an electric furnace. Heat pumps are a great way to both heat and cool your home. They can also develop refrigerant leaks, have dirty filters, and get worn and broken parts that need fixing and replacing.
